Six Platforms to Find Your Next Job That is Not Indeed or LinkedIn

Updated june 27, 2025

While many of us have turned to Indeed/LinkedIn, the search for employment specifically tailored to the performing arts—whether in performance, administration, development, or program management—can feel challenging. To address this gap, we are in the process of creating our own job board. In the interim, we've compiled a quick list of job sites in order of efficacy where you can be sure your application is seen.

  1. NYFA: Arts Administration etc.

  2. Playbill: Performances (All Instruments), Arts Administration, Production etc.

  3. Visit an organization’s website directly for job openings - Cause IQ has a database for “performing arts” organizations in your area. Google “Performing arts organizations in [Insert location] Cause IQ”

  4. Google: “Arts Administration jobs” OR “Performing Arts Jobs” OR “Musician needed” and it will generate a list of jobs. You can refine these results.

  5. Trusted Word of Mouth/Your Network - Always be aware of scams!

  6. HigherEd Jobs: This can sometimes feel quite narrow, however, if you’re serious about higher education in administration or teaching - this is a great database of jobs to have.
